Embarked from Alexandria, Egypt, on board HMT 'Ivernia'; arrived Marseilles, France, 29 June 1916. Taken on strength, 54th Bn, 3 July 1916. Admitted sick to hospital, France, 2 August 1916; transferred to England and admitted to Waltham Abbey Hospital with pulmonary tuberculosis, 5 August 1916. Rejoined unit in France, 5 November 1916.
