Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty when handling his company. When the front posts held by his platoons had been driven in, he led his reserved forward so effectually as to re-establish the line. His tenacious defence at a critical moment greatly assisted the counter attack by his brigade.'
