Admitted to 1/1 Lowlands Field Ambulance, 30 August 1917 (gun shot wound, right arm and leg), and transferred to 66th Casualty Clearing Station; to Hospital Train, 30 August 1917, and admitted to 24th Stationary Hospital, Cairo, 1 September 1917; transferred to 14th Australian General Hospital, Abbassia, 3 September 1917. Court of Enquiry, 25 September 1917, concluded: 'CSM Ford of Camel Transport Corps met with an accident through his own stupidity though not done purposely. He was on duty at the time.'
