Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the operations of 26th, 27th, and 28th August 1918, which resulted in the capture of FOUCAUCOURT, and the advancing of our line beyond ESTREES. During the attack on the village, the Platoon to which Corporal FORD belonged was being heavily fired on by two machine guns. This N.C.O., with two men, crept forward and rushed the guns, which were still in action, killed the two gunners, and brought back two other prisoners. This act very materially assisted in reducing the opposition to the advance of his Platoon. The daring and dash displayed by this N.C.O. was of the highest order.'
