'This soldier has been a Motor Cyclist Despatch Rider since 19th October, 1916. During the period 27th September, 1918, to 7th October, 1918, in which time his Brigade Headquarters was continually moving, Sapper FOSDICK rendered valuable services and displayed exceptional devotion to duty and initiative. His work necessitated the delivery of despatches to all units within the Brigade group at all hours of the day and night, often under most adverse weather conditions and over bad roads. his keen sense of duty, cheerful demeanour even under the most trying circumstances and his promptness in delivery of despatches have been most exceptional.'
