Wounded in action, 15 August 1915 (gun shot wound, right arm), admitted to No 1 Casualty Clearing Station, Anzac, and transferred to Mudros; to Enland, 17 August 1915, and admitted to Military Hospital, Newend, Hampstead, London, 31 August 1915. Returned to Egypt from A&NZ Base Depot, Weymouth, with No 26 Draft, 25 March 1916; disembarked Alexandria, 6 April 1916. Admitted to No 2 Australian Stationary Hospital, Tel el Kebir, 15 April 1916 (old wound, right arm); transferred by Ambulance Train to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital, 16 April 1916; to 1st Auxiliary Hospital, 13 May 1916.
