'In connection with a raid carried out by a platoon from the 54th Battalion before LA CORDONNERIE on 12th October, Sergeant FULLARTON, preliminary to the raid carried out incessant reconnoitring work in "NO MAN'S LAND". During the training period the keen interest that he showed in the special instruction was communicated by him to the men under his command. During the raid he was intrusted with guarding a flank of the raiding party. While doing this he also bombed two German dug-outs accounting for four Germans. On return he led his own party back to our own lines and hearing that Lieutenant MITCHELL had not reported he volunteered immediately in face of heavy retaliation fire to go and search "NO MAN'S LAND".'
