Admitted to 4th Australian Field Ambulance, 2 January 1917 (injured right foot), and transferred to NZ Stationary Hospital; to 9th General Hospital, Rouen, 3 January 1917; to NZ Stationary Hospital, 13 January 1917 (venereal disease: gonorrhoea, and injured toes); to 51st General Hospital, Etaples, 16 January 1917; discharged to Base Details, 29 March 1917; total period of treatment for venereal disease: 76 days.

Transferred to England for Base Duties, 6 November 1917.

Found guilty, No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 21 January 1918, of being in Weymouth at 10.30 pm, 21 January, without a pass: awarded 4 days' Field Punishment No 2.

Commenced return to Australia, 30 January 1918; discharged (medically unfit: trench feet), Brisbane, 7 May 1918.
