'During the operation, of the 26th/27th August, 1918, East of Bray, Private Fuller, a Company Runner, carried valuable information backward and forward through a heavy barrage and in full face of enemy Machine Gun fire and snipers, throughout the whole operation. During one of his journeys he located an enemy Machine Gun and informed his Company Commander, and while his Company Commander with the aid of other men, attracted the attention of the enemy, Private Fuller worked up to the Machine Gun and succeeded in killing the gunner and capturing the gun.'
