Wounded in action, 4 July 1916 (gun shot wound, buttock, left arm, ear), and admitted to 8th Stationary Hospital, Wimereux; transferred to England, 6 July 1916, and admitted to Welch Metropolitan Hospital, Whitchurch, nr Cardiff, 8 July 1916; transferred to Woodcote Park Hospital, Epsom, 9 October 1916; marched in to No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, from hospital, 19 October 1916.
