Distinguished Service Order 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He had charge of an advanced dressing station for five days, during which it was under heavy shell fire most of the time. He displayed the greatest ability and devotion to duty in organizing the dressing and evacuation of a large number of the wounded, on several occasions helping to bring them in himself.'
