War service: Egypt, Western Front Embarked Adelaide on board HMAT 'Geelong', 18 November 1915; disembarked Suez, 18 December 1915. Found guilty, Moascar, 21 December 1915, of overstaying leave from 1700 hours, until 2015 hours, 20 December 1915: awarded forfeiture of 2 days' pay. Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 17 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 23 June 1916. Posted missing, 20 July 1916. Reported as Prisoner of War in Germany, 13 August 1916. Place of detention is reported as move from Munster I to Munster III, 25 October 1916. Now repatriated to England, 4 December 1918. Marched into No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 8 January 1919. Found guilty, 27 February 1919, of being absent without leave from 0900 hours, until 0530 hours, 26 February 1919: awarded 6 days' Field Punishment No 2 and forfeited 12 days' pay.
