Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For continuous good service and devotion to duty throughout the period 25 February to 16 September, 1918. He has on several occasions commanded a platoon in the line, and has always shown marked gallantry and devotion to duty. On numerous occasions he has volunteered for dangerous tasks, which he has carried out in a most successful manner. He displayed great gallantry and devotion to duty during the advance from Villers-Bretonneux to Peronne, 8 August to 5 September, 1918.'
