Meritorious Service Medal 'During the period from 25th February 1918 to 17th September 1918 this W.O. has performed most valuable work as R.Q.M.S., and no small part of the excellent work done by the Quartermasters Department of this Battalion is due to his efforts. Always cheerful, and a most willing and energetic worker, he sets a splendid example to his Staff. On several occasions during the absence on Leave of the R.Q.M. he has carried out his duties in a most efficient manner, and has several times brought up rations to the Line under very adverse conditions, and in spite of heavy shell fire.'
