Proceeded to join the British Expeditionary Force, disembarking Marseilles, France, 12 June 1916. Wounded in action, France, 14/16 August 1916 (gunshot wound to elbow); admitted to 3rd Canadian General Hospital, Boulogne, 16 August 1916.
