Admitted to 7th Field Ambulance and transferred to Hospital Ship, HS 'Nevasa', Gallipoli Peninsula, 2 November 1915 (influenza); admitted to 19th General Hospital, Alexandria, Egypt, 8 November 1915; transferred to 1st General Hospital, Heliopolis, 3 December 1915 (enteric).

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Commonwealth', from Suez, 21 January 1916; disembarked Perth, 29 February 1916; discharged, 30 August 1916 (medically unfit: enteric and phthisis).
