Embarked Sydney on HMAT 'Orontes', 5 June 1918; disembarked Liverpool, 11 August 1918; marched into 5th Training Bn, Fovant, 12 August 1918.

Admitted to hospital, Hurdcott, 1 September 1918 (mumps); transferred to Isolation Hospital, Salisbury, 15 September 1918; transferred to Military Hospital, Fovant, 24 September 1918 (pleurisy). Transferred to 9th Bn Reinforcements whilst in hospital, 4 October 1918; transferred to 3rd Southern General Hospital, 19 October 1918; transferred to 1st Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield, 17 December 1918; discharged on furlough, 20 December 1918. Marched into No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 2 January 1919.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Karoa', 28 March 1919.
