Military Medal 'At LOUVERVAL, FRANCE, from 10th to 15th April 1917, and especially on 15th April 1917, L/Cpl. GARDNER during operations repeatedly went out under shell and rifle fire to repair telephone wires. It was owing to his courage and endurance that the communications which tended so much towards the success of the operations were kept up.'
