Military Medal

'In broad daylight on morning of 7th June, 1918, near METEREN, this man was one of a party of three who captured two of the enemy. They afterwards visited another post and killed eight of the enemy after a fight. The post was very strongly held and but for the courage and initiative shown by the party they must have become casualties. The party was forced to evacuate the post on account of the extremely heavy machine gun fire which was opened on them from five different positions.'
