Embarked Sydney, 25 October 1916; disembarked, Devonport, England, 28 December 1916; marched into 5th Training Bn, Rollestone, 29 December 1916, and reverts to the rank of Private the same day.

Promoted Extra Duty Pay Corporal, 30 December 1917.

Proceeded overseas to France. 15 February 1917; marched into 2nd Australian Divisional Base Depot, Etaples, 16 February 1917, and reverts to the rank of Private on marching in.

Promoted Acting Corporal, 17 February 1917.

Found guilty, 5 March 1917, of being out of bounds, 1 March 1917: award, reduced to the ranks.

Taken on strength of 17th Bn, in the field, 19 March 1917.
