Military Medal 'On the 8th June 1917 whilst the 114th Battery position was being heavily shelled and had an ammunition dump set on fire this N.C.O. assisted in fighting the fire and keeping it to restricted limits. He was under heavy shell fire and he continued to endeavour to keep the fire from spreading to the Gas Shells until an enemy shell blew up the Gas Shell Dump, when he was withdrawn by the Officer in Charge. By his courage and devotion to duty he st a fine example.'
