Military Medal 'For bravery and devotion to duty on the 9th and 10th August, 1918 at ROSIERES. This bearer was acting as runner between R.M.O. and the officer in charge of evacuation during the advance made by the 2nd and 3rd Brigades and on many occasions crossed large open spaces swept by machine gun and rifle fire. In spite of the constant movement of posts and the difficulty thus attached to his take this runner always managed to deliver his messages and thus materially assisted in the evacuation of wounded.'
