Meritorious Service Medal

'For conspicuously good work and devotion to duty during period 16th September to November 11th, 1918. This Non Commissioned Officer has served with the Provost Corps of this Division for 18 months, and has at all times carried out his duties in a very praiseworthy manner. During the operations on the SOMME, 1918, the cool manner in which he controlled traffic, and collected prisoners of War, often under most trying circumstances, is worthy of recognition.'
