Military Medal 'On 29th September, 1918, in the HINDENBURG LINE, he led a bombing attack against the enemy and succeeded in capturing a considerable length of trench in spite of strong enemy resistance. He has always proved to be a capable Non Commissioned Officer showing great initiative and personal bravery and has been a splendid example to the men in his Company. On the 25th August, 1918, near CYLON WOOD, he went forward in broad daylight with two others and assisted in the capture of 37 prisoners. This Non Commissioned Officer has been with the Battalion since it first landed in France, and has taken part in all its operations except during a period from 1st October, 1917 to 28th February 1918, showing coolness and courage throughout.'
