Proceeded overseas to France, 30 December 1916; taken on strength, 58th Bn, 7 February 1917. Treated at 45th Casualty Clearing Station, 11 March 1917 (pneumonia); transferred to 12th General Hospital, Rouen, 16 March 1917 (pleurisy). Discharged to Base Depot, 31 March 1917; rejoined unit, 21 April 1917. Wounded in action, 10 May 1917 (shrapnel wound, right arm and thigh); admitted to 3rd Casualty Clearing Station, 11 May 1917; rejoined unit, 16 May 1917.
