Military Medal 'Regimental Stretcher Bearer is recommended for his splendid courage during attack on HINDENBURG LINE South of REINCOURT on 11th April, 1917. Despite heavy enemy Machine gun and Rifle fire he showed great bravery in rescuing wounded though enemy was deliberately firing on Stretcher Bearers this did not deter him from carrying out his duty and it is solely owing to the determination and courage of the Stretcher Bearers that we recovered any of our wounded. His conduct is highly praiseworthy and merits reward.'
