Military Medal 'On the morning of 24th/4/1918 at BONNAY, near ALBERT during a very heavy bombardment of the village he, on three occasions went out under very heavy fire, and brought in wounded to the Advanced Dressing Station. Later when the site of Advanced Dressing station had been moved he volunteered to stay at the old position to help with any wounded that came there. He remained on duty there till the Station was destroyed by two direct hits and only left on getting direct orders to do so. He showed the utmost bravery and devotion to duty throughout.'
