Military Medal 'On the 8th August, 1918, during the operations on the SOMME, east of HAMEL, Private GOODLAND showed conspicuous bravery in rushing an enemy trench single handed where he killed some of the enemy who refused to surrender and captured several prisoners. He set a high example throughout the operation of personal courage and devotion to duty.'
