Military Medal 'On the night of 10th/17th October 1917, near WESTHOEK, East of YPRES, when his battery was being heavily shelled, a shell fell amonst a large party of men, wounding eight. He immediately organised a party and at once proceeded to assist in getting the wounded men away which task he accomplished. His promptness, gallantry and example render him worthy of special recognition.'
