Found guilty, Wareham, 1 November 1916, of (1) being absent without leave on 1 November 1916; (2) being late for parade: awarded 7 days' confined to barracks, and forfeits 1 days' pay. Marched out of No 2 Command Depot, Wool, 17 November 1916, and marched into 4th Training Bn, Codford, the same day. Admitted to Group Hospital, 27 December 1916 (cough); marched in 4th Training Bn, 7 January 1917. Found guilty, 13 March 1917, of being absent from the Isolation Hut: awarded 6 days' extra fatigue. Proceeded overseas to France, 20 March 1917; marched into 4th Australian Divisional Base Depot, Etaples, 21 March 1917. Proceeded to unit, 23 March 1917; taken on strength of 13th Bn, 24 March 1917.
