Military Medal 'During the action 26th/27th September, 1917, at ZONNEBEKE RIDGE east of YPRES this N.C.O. displayed great gallantry and devotion to duty. Under heavy shell fire he supervised and controlled the evacuation of wounded from the R.A.P. He was of great assistance in clearing the Aid Post of severely wounded men.'
