'For gallant conduct when on patrol duty east of YPRES on 27th October, 1917. A party of the 11th Battalion Leicestershire Regiment came under heavy shell fire, sustaining severe casualties. In spite of the continued heavy shell fire Trooper GRAHAM rendered aluable assistance in attending to the wounded and carrying them out of the danger zone. He set a splendid example of courage and initiative.'
