'During the past six months and during the Battalion's tour of duty at YPRES in September, October, and November, 1917, and at PLOEGSTEERT in January, 1918, this Warrant Officer accompanied supplies to the front line. His coolness under fire, tireless energy, cheerful spirit, and conscientious work are an outstanding feature of this Warrant Officer. He is an invaluable Officer.'
