Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During an attack by the enemy this officer manoeuvred his squadron into a position from which he enfiladed them, causing them to retire with loss. During the retirement he charged with two troops, and captured 45 prisoners, one machine gun, and two automatic rifles. His coolness and quickness were largely responsible for the success of the counter attack.'
