Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 16 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, 23 June 1916. Reported missing, 19 July 1916. Previous report of missing, now, 3 August 1916, to be reported as killed in action, 20 July 1916. Buried New Cemetery, Sailly-sur-La-Lys, by Reverend W. Meredith Holliday, 20 July 1916. Statement, Red Cross File No 1220603, 1557 Sergeant A. MOORE, B Company, 31st Bn (patient, No 51 General Hospital, Etaples), 28 March 1917: 'He was killed at Fleurbaix on July 19th. in the charge.
