Medals |
Military Medal 'On 9th August 1918 during the attack on enemy positions between VAUVILLERS and LIHONS, Private BALLAGH with Lance Corporal ANDREWS as Lewis Gunners behaved most gallantly under very heavy Machine Gun fire. In spite of the heavy fire from the enemy these two gunners were most energetic with their Lewis Guns, keeping well ahead of their Company. They succeeded in putting three enemy Machine guns out of action and accounted for at least 40 of the enemy. Their example and fine courage were undoubtedly a great help in the success of the advance.'
