War service: Egypt, Gallipoli Joined 8th Bn at Gallipoli, 8 May 1915. Admitted to 2nd Field Ambulance, Gallipoli, 30 August 1915 (diarrhoea), and transferred to Mudros. Admitted to 1st Australian General Hospital, Heliopolis, Egypt, 12 September 1915 (enteric fever, dangerously ill). Discharged to Convalescent Camp, Port Said, 28 December 1915.
