Embarked Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, Gallipoli, 4 April 1915.

Wounded in action (date not recorded) (gun shot wound, ankle); admitted to Mena House Hospital, Cairo, 10 August 1915.

Found guilty, 7 October 1915, 1st Brigade Ammunition Column Details, of being absent contrary to General Order 628 26 June 1915: forfeited 1 day's pay.

Attached to Mobile Section, Suez Road Camp, 25 December 1915.

Transferred to 4th Division Artillery, 21 February 1916; taken on strength, 21st howitzer Brigade, 6 March 1916, and posted to 101st Battery.

Promoted Shoeing Smith Corporal, 10 March 1916.

Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 25 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 1 April 1916.
