He had represented the State on three occasions in interstate matches, and was one of the Australian team at Bisley in two consecutive years, coming 8th in the Kings the first year and 4th the second year. On his way home he won the Kings Prize in Melbourne. He also won many trophies and medals and on several occasions he won the championship of the Club. He was a member of the City Rifle Club."
