War service: Egypt, Gallipoli, Western Front Joined 15th Bn at Gallipoli, 13 July 1915. aAdmitted to St Andrew's Hospital, Malta, 31 July 1915 (enteritis); transferred to England, 23 August 1915, and admitted to Endell Street Hospital, London, 31 August 1915 (enteritis and dental caries); discharged on furlough (date not recorded) to No 2 command Depot, Weymouth. Found guilty, 22 March 1916, of overstaying leave, 21-22 March 1916: awarded 24 hours confined to barracks, and forfeited 1 day's pay. Found guilty, 11 May 1916, of being absent without leave from midnight, 7 May, until Tattott, 10 May 1916: awarded 7 days confined to barracks and forfeited 3 days' pay under Royal Warrant. Proceeded overseas t, o France, 16 July 1916; joined 15th Bn, in the field, 20 August 1916. Reported missing in action, 11 April 1917. Subsequently reported captured Reincourt; now a prisoner of war.
