[The Rector of Rosewood, Queensland visited the parents of Lance Corporal Acha Banks and broke the news of their son's death. The Rector wrote to the Commandant, Commonwealth Forces, Brisbane, stating that "the parents were thankful for the sympathy expressed and bore the sad news with true British bravery and courage"].
