Admitted to No 2 Australian Stationary Hospital, Tel-el-Kebir, 1 May 1916 (diarrhoea); discharged to 4th Training Bn, 10 May 1916.

Admitted to 3rd Australian General Hospital, Cairo, 15 May 1916; transferred to 4th Auxiliary Hospital, Shoubra, 19 May 1916; discharged to base details, Abbassia, 10 June 1916.

Embarked Alexandria on HMT 'Megantic' and proceeded to join the British Expeditionary Force, 6 August 1916; marched into 4th Australian Divisional Base Depot, Etaples, 24 September 1916.

Admitted to 18th General Hospital, Camiers, 12 February 1917; classified PB, 4 May 1917. Proceeded to England through Havre, 4 September 1917; marched into No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 3 September 1917.
