Military Medal 'On the 8th August 1918 East of VILLERS-BRETONNEUX this N.C.O. was in charge of a Section. Whilst on the J.O.T. the enemy put down a barrage, causing casualties to the Section and getting the men rattled. Lance Corporal HAYDON quickly rallied them again by his own cheerfulness and got them away when the attack moved forward. On two occasions during the attack he rushed enemy posts, at the head of his Section, capturing the garrisons. Throughout the operations he displayed remarkable coolness and disregard of personal danger.'
