Wounded in action, Lone Pine, 8 August 1915 (gun shot wound, head), and admitted to 3rd Field Ambulance, and transferred to Australian Casualty Clearing Station; to Alexandria, 13 August 1915, and admitted to 1st Australian General Hospital, Heliopolis, 14 August 1915 (gun shot wound, scalp); transferred to No 3 Auxiliary Hospital, 14 August 1915; to Base Details, 20 August 1915.

Admitted to 1st Australian General Hospital, 3 September 1915 (septic hand); transferred to No 2 Auxiliary Hospital, 5 September 1915; to A&NZ Convalescent Hospital, Helouan, 27 September 1916; discharged to Australian Overseas Base, fit for Active Service, 2 December 1915.

Rejoined 7th Bn, Serapeum, 9 March 1916.
