Military Medal

'During operation East of MESSINES from June 7th to June 12th 1917 Private HENDERSON took charge of the gun after the N.C.O. in charge had been killed. Although he was himself wounded he kept his gun in action throughout the operation under very heavy enemy artillery barrage.'
