Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On 29th September, 1918, at QUENNEMONT FARM this Non Commissioned Officer was in charge of two guns which he brought into action on the flank of the infantry despite casualties in his team, and under direct artillery and very heavy machine gun fire. It was entirely due to his splendid example and unfailing courage that the guns were kept in action during a very critical period of the operation.'
