Military Medal 'Near WESTHOEK, east of YPRES on 29th October, 1917, these men were responsible for the maintenance of lines fromm "C" Group to Div. Arty. H.Q. The buried cable was blown out and these men [HILL and 4295 Jersey GRINHAM] laid and maintained ground lines to the nearest cable box some distance away. The lines were laid in an exceptionally short time and under heavy hostile shell-fire. through their prompt action and total disregard of personal danger, communication was quickly restored during a critical period of this operation.'
