War service: embarked from Sydney, 19 December 1917; disembarked Suez, 16 January 1918. Embarked from Port Said, 24 January 1918; disembarked Taranto, 2 February 1918. Entrained Taranto, 5 February 1918; detrained Cherbourg, France, 12 February 1918. Embarked for England, 12 February 1918; disembarked Southampton, 13 February 1918.

Admitted to Sutton Veny Military Hospital, 6 March 1918 (measles). Marched in to No. 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 2 April 1918.

Commenced return to Australia on board D11, 6 June 1918 (flat feet); disembarked Melbuorne, 31 July 1918, for onward travel to Sydney; discharged, 30 August 1918.

Re-enlisted, 17 May 1919, as 85793, Private, Special Service, AIF. Embarked from Sydney on board HT 'Kursk', 27 May 1919; disembarked London, 23 July 1919. Granted leave, 24 July 1919, to report to AIF Headquarters, 8 August 1919, for transfer to No. 2 Group, Sutton Veny.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Plassy', 5 September 1919; discharged, 13 November 1919.
