Wounded in action, 12 November 1916 (shrapnel wound, right foot); admitted to 36th Casualty Clearing Station, 13 November 1916; transferred to 1st Australian General Hospital, Rouen, 15 November 1916; to 2nd Convalescent Depot, Rouen, 21 November 1916; to 6th General Hospital, Rouen, 6 December 1916 (laryngitis); to England, 21 December 1916, and admitted same day to Tooting Military Hospital; discharged on furlough, 15 February 1917, to report to No 1 Command Depot, Perham Downs, 3 March 1917.
