Military Medal 'On 15th October 1917 near ZONNEBEKE (East of YPRES) this Driver was carrying stores to his Battery. All roads and approaches were under heavy shell fire. After making three attempts to get through and being twice blown over by bursting shellsQthough suffering severely from shockQthis Driver by his determination and courage eventually reached his Battery and delivered the stores. On many occasions during the period 10th September 1917 to 25th October 1917 this Driver has gone through heavy and continuous shell fire in delivering rations and urgently required gun stores to his Battery.'
